From Gang Member to Youth Pastor

Ten years ago, you would have found me on the streets, running with a gang, dealing drugs, and heading toward an early grave or a lifetime in prison. Today, I stand before youth groups sharing my testimony of redemption.
My transformation didn't happen overnight. It started when I was arrested for the third time and faced serious prison time. In my cell, I found a Bible left by the previous occupant. Out of sheer boredom, I started reading.
The stories of Paul, a persecutor turned apostle, spoke to something deep within me. If God could use someone who persecuted Christians, maybe there was hope for someone like me.
A prison chaplain named Father Michael took me under his wing. He didn't judge my past; instead, he saw my potential. Through his mentorship and the grace of God, I began to change.
When I was released, Father Michael helped me get into seminary. It wasn't easy - many people doubted a former gang member could truly change. But God's grace is bigger than our past.
Now, I work with at-risk youth in the same neighborhoods where I once sold drugs. Every young person I help step away from gang life is a testament to God's transformative power. My scars tell a story not of violence, but of redemption.
