A Stone For Every Step

By Simon November 23, 2025

Eli lived near a river that ran clear and cold. After a season of deep grief, he began visiting the river every morning. He picked up a smooth stone for each worry weighing on his heart. One by one, he placed the stones back into the flowing water, watching the current carry his burdens downstream.

As weeks passed, the pile of stones grew smaller. His grief remained, but it felt lighter — as if the river was teaching him that no sorrow stays the same forever. Things move. Hearts shift. Water flows.

Some healing comes a stone at a time.
